Our top Rental property booking tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Hilton Head rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Couples Retreat, Dog Friendly, Private enclosed courtyard has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
