How to find the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking your prefect Hilton Head rental:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Beautiful Colonial-style Home with Lagoon Views and Newly-Constructed Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
