How to book the best Hilton Head rental home experience:

When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. To get the best value, change your family's Hilton Head vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 3 Bed\/2.5 Bath Vacation Home in Palmetto Dunes with Free Tennis or Pickleball has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
