Strategies to get the best Hilton Head rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hilton Head restaurants and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in Hilton Head:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Villa in Hilton Head with pool, beach access, patio, & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Hilton Head attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
