Booking the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Hilton Head area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Hilton Head vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 3rd Floor Private Tennis Villa\/Lagoon & Pool View\/Pet Friendly\/Harbour Town has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
