Rental property booking tips:
When to book a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Hilton Head vacation home:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Multi-Level Townhouse with Pool, Hot Tub, & Tennis - Walk to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
