Finding the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Hilton Head. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in Hilton Head:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Kitchen updated,Rates include cleaning has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
