• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
• The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
• Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
• Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.

• Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
