Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 2516 Villamare - Nicely updated fifth floor condo in Hilton Head Island! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
