Tricks and tips to get the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer is high season in Hilton Head. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2-story house with private heated outdoor pool, stunning views & foosball has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
