Tricks and tips to get the optimal Hilton Head rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect vacation home:

  • To start, have your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 2-story house with private heated outdoor pool, stunning views & foosball has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
