Welcome to the Coastal Discovery Museum!
The Coastal Discovery Museum is one of the most memorable destinations on Hilton Head Island. Explore natural history and cultural heritage on the 68 acre Honey Horn property. The Museum’s trails, gardens, live oaks, butterfly enclosure, and horses are just a few of the fun experiences you will encounter during your visit.
Monday-Saturday 9:00-4:30 and Sunday 11-3.
Adult - $425.00 + tax

March 19, 20, 21, 2025 from 9:30-12:30 on each date.
World-famous but with origins right here in the Lowcountry, the Sweetgrass basket is one of the region’s best known art forms and cultural icons. Learn about the history of sweetgrass basket sewing, materials used to create these beautiful and functional pieces of art, and sew your own sweetgrass basket to take home. Local basket sewers, Michael Smalls and Dino Badger, will guide you through the process and assist you every step of the way. This is a unique opportunity to learn from the experts and create your own sweetgrass basket with all materials and guidance provided.
This 3-day, 3-hours per day, workshop does have very limited spots available, and reservations are required.
