Strategies for getting the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:

When to visit Hilton Head & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect vacation home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by having your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Beach Villa 3 has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
