Strategies to get the best Hilton Head vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in Hilton Head. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Amazing & newly updated three bedroom / three bath villa steps to the ocean! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, email the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
