Booking the best Hilton Head rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Hilton Head. To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your Hilton Head vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Beachfront getaway with WiFi, pools, hot tub, gym, washer\/dryer, & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
