Finding the best Hilton Head rental experience:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Hilton Head attractions.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. 242 Stoney Creek is located in the heart of Harbour Town in Sea Pines. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
