Booking the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Happy Place Gated ResortBldg.1,First floor, pool, deli\/gift shop, bar has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's an individual Hilton Head beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
