Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Hilton Head area. Reserve your Hilton Head vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Hilton Head area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Hilton Head:
- To start, have your family select date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Fantastic views of the George Fazio Golf Course! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
