Tips for getting the best rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book your prefectrental:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful Golf Front Villa! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
