How to find the best Hilton Head vacation home experience:
Find your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Hilton Head. Booking your Hilton Head vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Perfection, Stunning Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
