Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfect Hilton Head rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.

- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective.
