Strategies to get the optimal Hilton Head vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Hilton Head area. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Hilton Head restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect rental home in the Hilton Head area:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Marriott Vacation Club Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
