Tips to get the perfect Hilton Head rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in the Hilton Head area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 108 Beachwalk Pet Friendly Condo, Steps to the Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Hilton Head rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Hilton Head attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
