Finding the best Hilton Head rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Hilton Head area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Hilton Head area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book the perfectrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Luxurious Condo with Lagoon Views, Shared Pool, Tennis & Playground has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
