Finding the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Hilton Head restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Hilton Head area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best rental in the Hilton Head area:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Direct Oceanfront. Just steps from the beach! Heated Pool! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
