Booking the best Hilton Head vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Hilton Head. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Evian 190 has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Hilton Head beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
