Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Hilton Head rental home & When to go:

  • To book the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Hilton Head area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Hilton Head area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Hilton Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Family-Friendly Condo w\/Free WiFi, Covered Porch, Washer\/Dryer, and Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
