Booking the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Hilton Head attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Hilton Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Hilton Head visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to select the best vacation rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Stunning Ocean Views from this Beautiful Condo with Pool, On-Site Amenities! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Hilton Head destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
