You'll need to determine what is acceptable for the party. Generally vacation home listings will describe each of the unit's specific bedrooms and beds.

Stick to a Budget

Does the preferred vacation property fit your budget during that choice Summer week? Make sure that you get cost-sharing commitments from friends and family well before reserving a pricey vacation property. Most of the time, a single member of the group will be liable for making the full reservation and collecting each family member's share.

Compose a list of "Preferences" and "Requirements"

What home features is the group searching for? Do you just desire a rental with a swimming pool, spa or beach volleyball court? Does the unit need to be beachfront, downtown, or in close proximity to shopping? Will the home have bikes and beach toys available for use as part of your stay? Build a list of priority amenities to facilitate filter your search.

Accessability

Optimal accessibility can make or ruin a visit for the less-mobile. Make sure you remember and ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs..

What About Furry Family Members?

Type of animal, size and dog breeds can be limited. Make certain to study agreements and contracts carefully. Additional charges may apply when pets are included. If in doubt, ask the property owner and get it in writing.

  • Please be respectful of the local community. Permanent residents often times live within earshot. Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by visitors next to your residence.
  • Ask a local. Local people can frequently point you in the right direction.
  • Make certain to protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the vacation rental secured when you are away, just like you would at home.

At the end of your stay

  • Clean up a bit. Even when you're having to pay a housekeeping fee, The rental home should be in good condition. Kitchen sinks brimming with dishes, substantial beach sand on the floors and sticky messes should be addressed before you leave.
  • Make sure to walk through the rental home one last time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever feasible (this isn't always the case).. If the property manager is not available, make sure to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you enjoy your vacation rental? Many vacation rental management companies and rental home sites allow renters to provide reviews. If your vacation rental and/or property manager was excellent, they'll appreciate your recommendations. If something was wrong and they failed to correct it in a practical manner, or when the vacation rental wasn't as described, you will want to make it a point in your critique.

Iterate
